The Origins Debate

The whole genre of discussion regarding Origins has become a subject of utmost importance lately. As many already know, I feel a strong urgency from God to help the Church defend His Word against modern Evolutionary paradigms that have risen and are invading even the Church itself. Without compromise, regardless of what modern liberal theologians (including laymen) or the religious (or not) scientific community professes, evolutionism is Satan's master plan to destroy the Word of God.

The following is an excerpt of a much longer thesis I have written:

The first principle of the Biblical model of education concerns God and His Word. Knowledge of the Scriptures is of primary importance. For education to be of any value, it must first begin with a truthful revelation of God, and only through Scripture can the proper paradigm, i.e., the correct way to view the world, be understood. Scripture provides us the true presuppositions to establish our knowledge, imparts the values to guide our understanding, and establishes the goals to direct us in a walk of wisdom. An educational system not built on a foundation of the Holy Bible will not provide any worthwhile teaching. During John Wycliffe’s lifetime, the worldly principles of Greek philosophy and logic were being placed above the Word of God. Wycliffe wrote, “There is no subtlety in grammar, neither in logic, nor in any other science, but that it is found in a more excellent degree in the Scriptures" [1].

The Bible must be the foundation of all studies. Humanistic philosophy stresses that man is the measure of all things; whereas, the Bible teaches God is the measure of all things. The modern education system draws knowledge out of nature and man’s opinions, but the Biblical method draws answers from God through His Word. A true biblical foundation trusts God at His Word and is skeptical of man’s.

Modern science works daily to destroy the faith of young children in the public education system. Building on the early atheistic writings of deceived men, a systematic, structured program has been active in the destruction of humanity’s faith in God and His Word. Ideas such as Uniformitarianism, first published by James Hutton—Theory of the Earth; or an Investigation of the Laws observable in the Composition, Dissolution, and Restoration of Land upon the Globe (1788)—and later popularized by Charles Lyell—Principles of Geology (1830-33)—heavily influenced other men, such as young Charles Darwin, to believe the earth was millions of years old instead of only six thousand years as the Bible indicates. Believing in long-age dates for the earth allowed Charles Darwin to formulate his evolutionary ideas which he later published in his books On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favored Races in the Struggle for Life (1858) and The Descent of Man, and Selection in Relation to Sex (1871).

Darwin’s teaching of “survival of the fittest” not only gave rise to the scientific aspects of evolution, but it also affected all of society as well. Applying evolutionary ideas to human society, Darwinism became the justification for racism. Modern evolution’s leading spokesman Stephen Jay Gould admits, “Biological arguments for racism may have been common before 1859, but they increased by orders of magnitude following the acceptance of evolutionary theory” [2]. Instead of accepting the Biblical teaching that all men are of “one blood” [3], people began to view others supremely inferior to themselves. For example, the German zoologist Ernst Haeckel, famous for popularizing the immensely false idea “ontogeny recapitulates phylogeny,” the idea that embryos follow the same path as the evolutionary history of its species as it develops—“each successive stage in the development of an individual represents one of the adult forms that appeared in its evolutionary history.” [4]—wrote,

At the lowest stage of human mental development are the Australians,
some tribes of the Polynesians, and the Bushmen, Hottentots, and some of
the Negro tribes. Nothing, however, is perhaps more remarkable in this
respect, than that some of the wildest tribes in southern Asia and
eastern Africa have no trace whatever of the first foundations of all
human civili-zation, of family life, and marriage. They live together in
herds, like apes. [5]

Darwin himself argued that the Caucasian race was farther along the evolutionary process than other races, and thus superior. He wrote,

At some future period not very distant as measured by centuries, the
civilised [sic] races of man will almost certainly exterminate and
replace the savage races throughout the world. At the same time the
anthropomorphous apes . . . will no doubt be exterminated. The break
between man and his nearest Allies will then be wider, for it will
intervene between man in a more civilised [sic] state, as we may hope,
even than the Caucasian, and some ape as low as the baboon, instead of
as now between the Negro or Australian and the gorilla. [6]


In addition to Racism, having completely disregarded the Biblical foundations that God created the universe in six literal days and fashioned man with His own hands, Social Darwinism gave rise to some of the most horrific acts of genocide known to History. Karl Marx and Frederich Engles, authors of The Communist Manifesto, were exceedingly enthusiastic over Darwin’s book On the Origen of Species. Marx blended his social and economic theories with evolutionary principles. In 1860, in a letter to Engle, he wrote that Darwin’s book “contains the basis in natural history for our views” [7].

Marxism, in turn, gave rise to atheistic, communist leaders such as Vladimir Lenin, Leon Trotsky, and Joseph Stalin, each of whom brought terror and bloodshed to the lives of the Russian people. Trotsky was an avid supporter of Darwinism and Marxism. Concerning Darwin, he wrote,

Darwin destroyed the last of my ideological predjudices. . . . The idea
of evolution and determinism—that is, the idea of a gradual development
conditioned by the character of the material world—took possession of me
completely. . . . I was intoxicated with his minute, precise,
conscientious and at the same time powerful, thought. . . . I absolutely
declined to understand how a theory of the origin of species by way of
natural selection and sexual selection and a belief in God could find
room in one and the same head. [8]


Joseph Stalin, considered by many to be the world’s worst mass-murderer, was reported by a friend to have become an atheist after reading Darwin, although he first began his studies at a theological university [9]. Having rejected God and His Word, and now believing that evolution provided no basis for conscience or morals, he was free to torture and murder without remorse in order to achieve his communist goals.

Darwinism also influenced the fascist regimes of Adolf Hilter and Benito Mussolini. Hitler formed his racial and social policies on the evolutionary concept of “survival of the fittest” and the superiority of the “favored races” (as in the subtitle of Darwin’s book) [10]. The murders of six million Jews, blacks, gypsies, the retarded, and others deemed “unfit to live” serve as a vivid testimony of Darwin’s unbiblical ideologies. When God’s Word is not set as the principle authority of all knowledge and wisdom, man sets himself as the authority and horrible consequences often result. Evolutionists have made clear the meaning of their ideology:

Christianity has fought, still fights, and will fight science to the
desperate end over evolution, because evolution destroys utterly and
finally the very reason Jesus’ earthly life was supposedly made
necessary. Destroy Adam and Eve and the original sin, and in the rubble
you will find the sorry re-mains of the son of god. Take away the
meaning of his death. If Jesus was not the redeemer that died for our
sins, and this is what evolution means, then Christianity is nothing. [11]

Let me summarize my views on what modern evolutionary biology tells us
loud and clear. . . . There are no gods, no purposes, no goal-directed
forces of any kind. There is no life after death. When I die, I am
absolutely certain that I am going to be dead. That’s the end for me.
There is no ultimate foundation for ethics, no ultimate meaning to life,
and no free will for humans, either. [12]


If God is left out, the only other option for supreme authority is man. And in such cases, each person determines what is right or wrong in his own eyes.

Instead of accepting the only source of absolute truth, God's Word (John 17:17), we would rather rely on fallible man's theories of the universe, and then force the Bible to comply. Instead of trusting and believing the one who created all things, we would rather rely on our own intelligence to figure that Creator out. Truly, "professing themselves wise" we make ourselves fools time after time.

Evolution places death, decay, disease, and destruction all before the Fall. The christian evolutionist, therefore, cannot justify the death of Christ as the atonement for man's sin. For evolution itself to function, death must exist, for it demands the "unfit" to die in order for the "fittest" to "survive" and produce better offspring. Therefore, Jesus' death was meaningless because God cannot truly hold us accountable for our personal sin: "ye shall not surely die." Indeed, if we are all still evolving, then ultimately "ye shall be as gods!" Can we not see Satan's lie in all of this?

I also understand that there are a growing number of Theistic Evolution (also referred to as BioLogos) preachers within the Apostolic church. I have stated before, and I stand firm, Theistic Evolution is only one step from pure atheism. And that is why I feel so moved by God to minister this very subject to the Church. Theistic Evolution bears the likely risk of destroying good people.

I know of no one believing in the general Historical-grammatical exegesis of Creation, i.e., "in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day" (Exodus 20:11), who has lost their faith. But for those who have accepted the very same lie Satan gave Eve in the garden, "Yea, hath God said" (Genesis 3:1), drawing into question the very Word of God, we find more and more saints and preachers who want to re-interpret Scripture. The end result is a cliff-hanger of Faith.

I'm not talking about back-sliding, but a complete and utter rejection of the God of Scripture. Within the confines of Evolutionism, nothing but a profession of faith in a god separates the theist from the atheist. And here is the crux of the matter. Evolution, as taught and accepted by the general scientific community, does not require God at all. Yet those who believe in Theistic Evolution trust (believe, accept) nearly everything else these scientists say. Why do they stop there? The general progression from Theistic Evolution to Humanistic Evolution is a repeated event.

I, for one, do not want to give Satan that victory. The Creation/Evolution controversy bears Endtime prophetic implications (cf. 2 Peter 3:3-13). May God help the Church in these last days.
