The Glorious Church

I'm sorry friends, but I think it will happen. The present Administration is dedicated to the "fundamental transformation" of America. What does that mean to you? In one sense it's already transformed from the nation I grew up in. Not the same place.

And yet is it possible that nations like Libya and Ethiopia are mentioned in end-time prophecy but not the United States Of America? The most powerful in some ways nation the world has ever known and it's not even mentioned?

I believe it does play a prominent role in end-time prophecy.

Ever consider why Babylon The Great is called "Mystery Babylon"?

The word "mystery" means to shut the mouth. A secret. What is the secret about the end time Babylon? If indeed we are living in the end time there exists no such nation as Babylon. Some have said it's Iraq. Even though that may be historically accurate, it certainly does not resemble the Babylon in Revelation.

I realize there are some things problematic about this view, nonetheless I just don't see how any other nation existing on Earth fits this description.

Rev. 18:1-11

7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously , so much torment and sorrow giveher: for she saith in her heart, I sit  a queen, and amno widow, and shall see no sorrow.8Therefore shall her plagues comein one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.9And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see  the smoke of her burning,10Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying , Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come . 11And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:

Merchants weeping? No one to buy their goods any more? Who is the largest buyer of imported goods in the Earth today?

Rev. 18:15-19

15 The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing , 16And saying , Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in  fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!17For in one hour so great riches is come to nought . And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade  by sea, stood afar off,18And cried  when they saw  the smoke of her burning, saying , What city is like unto this great city!19And they cast dust on their heads, and cried , weeping and wailing , saying , Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate .

All the exporters will feel undone! They were made rich by trading with "Secret" Babylon. Who is she?

Well if we are NOT actually at the time of the end, then maybe another nation will one day arise to fulfill this prophecy. But if this is it, if this is the beginning of the time of great tribulation, what other nation on Earth could this be?

I'm no expert on end times prophecy.  I tend toward the Pre-Trib Rapture position because that' how I was originally taught.  But it does seems that the United States is conspicuously absent.  Perhaps it is Babylon.

Question:  If America is going to fall, what do you think of the Doomsday Prepper crowd?   Are they faithless wacko's?  If we were to really believe in eminent economic collapse and the breakdown of law and order, should we prepare for such an event?  I recently listened to an apostolic Pastor relate two dreams about America being destroyed by fire and a tyrannical government overtaking it.  He urged people to prepare themselves however they could (store up food, water, etc), but when I talked to someone close to him, I discovered that he wasn't doing anything like that himself.  It kind of makes me doubt his prophecies if he doesn't even take them seriously.

If we talk about the eminent downfall of America, what should we do about it?

Have any of you read The Harbingers by Jonathan Cahn. I'm curious what you think of it. It's a quick read, so if anyone feels inspired to take it on, I'm interested in your analysis once you're done.

My wife Linda read the book. She was very moved by it. We watched the DVD a while back. We as a nation seem to be replaying the sins and mistakes of Israel. The motto of Politicians is always "We will rebuild". What they dont get is that God has more disasters than they have money.
