I was raised in what would be considered a "normal" apostolic church setting. Of course, "normal" and Biblical are two different things all together. Anyway, I did not develop a relationship with God until I was 20 years of age. I quickly discovered that God was calling me to be a teacher. I have been teaching for the most part of 20 years now. The majority of my ministry has been in the modern mainstream church structure. About three years ago we moved to Murray, Kentucky where we met Steve Stevens. Pastor Stevens introduced me to Gods desired biblical structure for His church leadership--Eldership. It just made sense and was confirmed by scripture. I have been a home group leader for sometime now and have found that it provides a setting for true ministry. So many years I have watched people come and go simply because they were dictated to and were not allowed to share themselves and their gifts. Home group provides the fertile ground for spiritual growth. My family and I are looking forward to seeing what God has for all of us. God bless.

Appreciate your comments, Brother. They confirm the direction I am taking in our home-group. As far as being basic, I am starting pretty basic. I'm attempting to recognize and develope the masculine leadership of each house that we assemble in. I feel this is very important as it gives each husband an opportunity to be admired (for lack of better term right now) by his wife and children. Also, it allows the whole family, as the hosts, the opportunity to show hospitality, and the guests to show gratitude.
Regardless of the amount of time gone by, it is good to hear from you...and I like your response. I am endeavoring to find ways to allow people to discover their "giftings" etc. also. One of these is through home-group meetings, which we have just recently started. I would be most interested in some of your methods used in home-group settings if you care to share.

Thanks for the nice comment. What a great privilege it is to glorify God. It is so humbling and fulfilling to see that Jesus gets the glory.
Thanks to all of you for the Murray Hospitality.
