Thank you for the welcome, bro Gillum. I found your blog to be interesting.

    Bro. Donnie,

Thank you for your encouraging words. I am completely committed to the goal of seeing every apostolic child kept from the government schools and educated at home by their parents. I believe this is God's plan for His people. Just about every family at our assembly home schools. The Shema Conference in Murray, KY, is awesome.

    Hello Donnie,
I know Ashland very well. I lived in Ironton a few years as a small boy and my brother and father were born there. My Grandparents lived in Ashland for many years as my grandfather worked at the Armco plant.
It's nice to here from you and perhaps we'll meet up in the future.
    Take care,
    Carl

    Greetings!
Yes, I firmly believe the Word of God only expresses a six, ordinary day Creation. Anything beyond that to attempt to make accommodations for secular Science's billions of years, undermines the integrity of Scripture. Last year after attending the Shemah conference in Murray, KY, my family drove on up to visit the Creation Museum. It was a very interesting visit. I recommend it.

I would have to say I first became aware of Elders at a very young age, but I wasn't aware of anyone actually trying implement the concept until my family became a part of the Apostolic Homeschooling yahoo group that Bro. Stevens administrates. I have not found any others in my immediate area that shares in this idea ... yet. :-) However, I also feel we are in the last days, and the Church may need to begin more and more home fellowships in the very near future.
  • Michael V. Frazier

I most heartily agree with what you've stated.

I'm not wanting to say that the typical "church" environment cannot produce good results, but I have personally found that people can be reached so much better in smaller groups, and especially in the "home."

My middle name is Vance, and I only use the V. initial so that some folks can recognize who I am. During my youth, I went by my middle name and some people only know me by that designation, but in college it became too difficult to keep correcting every professor, in every class, every semester. =) So, I've gone by my first name ever since, and frankly I like having the "el" in my name because I understand what it truly means.

I am not sure if I am related to the Victor Frazier you've mentioned. I've never met him—at least I don't think I have. I was born in Ruston, LA, but my father was transferred by his job to Southeast Texas when I was five years old. So, although I'm not a true native Texas, I've lived here most of my life.

I have a few blogs relating to my position on Creationism on the EveryonesApostolic network. If you have an account there, you should be able to find me and look them up.

Thank you very much for sharing your perspectives. I'm not sure I can explain mine quite as well, but I believe we share some similar ideas. God bless!

I'm retaining my EA page primarily as an avenue to spread the word among Apostolics regarding the Biblical basis for a Young Earth worldview. Like you, I hope to spend some good time here in fellowship with like-minded ministers. I am very happy to have met you - if only via the Net, so far. =) May God's richest blessings be yours.

Hello Bro Donnie and all on the network. I'm delighted to be part of this network of like-minded apostolics. I'm a recent transplant to west KY, having come from Ohio. We lived in Findlay, Oberlin, and Columbus, Ohio over a period years before coming here. The Lord brought us here to work with Steve Stevens and the folks of Apostolic Home Fellowship. Bro Donnie, your new grand daughter is beautiful. Lord bless.
  • Brandon Steinke

Yes, they are twins. They actually turn 1 next Wednesday. In my profile photo is my older son (13) and daughter (11). They are from my first marriage, prior to knowing the Lord.
  • Brandon Steinke

Thank you. My wife is actually a twin herself, as well! Everyone says the gene should have skipped us, but obviously God had other ideas. It was a total surprise for me when we found out. A moment I'll never forget. We spent the rest of the day just looking at each other and laughing! We also did not find out what we were having and we actually were thinking it was going to be a boy and a girl (we thought we had God pegged), but got another surprise when two girls came out! As Ephesians says, "Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think,..."

Hi again Bro Donnie. Yes, I know where Sunbury is--NE of Columbus. It's one of those towns that, 20 yrs ago, was "near" Columbus, but now is almost one of its neighborhoods...we've had our son from Michigan visiting with us recently, so I haven't been back on to post. Hope all is well with you. Hope you have great worship this coming Sunday.

Praise the Lord Donnie,Here in Kenya we have the desire to grow in the things of God.Men and women of God fellowship everyday at the church praying for this network, praying for each other and giving thanks to the Lord.
There has also been an increase locally in house to house fellowship in the word. Brethren are more motivated to meet together, reach out to others and share the word that is in them. A greater sense of community in Messiah is emerging. The word is being released.

It has begun to rain. Bungoma and the surrounding region have received substantial rainfall and the countryside is truly a picture. Hallelujah! God’s word proceeds from His mouth and from the Throne (Matt.4:4, Ex.25:21-22) As we are faithful as sons to release His Word, it flows as the river flows from the throne, and where the throne and the river are there is no more curse – only blessing! (Rev.22:1-5). The river which proceeds from the throne is the word of God!
    Welcome in Kenya,
    Pst Bonface

    Bro. Donnie,

I have been catching up on the network and have really enjoyed the comments you are posting. Thanks for your commitment to the network and the insight you bring.
  • Gregory Howard

    Bro Donnie
No, i have not. A good friend just took his family, was very impressed. I need to go.
  • Gregory Howard

    Sounds good
  • Brent Williams

    Brother Donnie,

I am so sorry about taking three months to reply to your comment.

I agree with you. Leadership must provide opportunity to allow people to exercise the experiences and gifts that God will give them. God is proactive and He expects His people to be active in the things that He gives them.
  • Brent Williams

There are some basic principle but each Home Group, I am convinced, is different. The dynamic of each group will changed based on their personality, perspective, and gifts. One of the most important things, outside of sound doctrinal teaching, is giving space for people to contribute and share. So often as ministers we are conditioned to control and not lead. It's good to lead but not control. It's good to lead into different parts of the home group service but once your there try to get others to own it. For instance, you can transition into praise and worship but have someone promote it. For instance, have someone give a three or four sentence statement on the reason for praise to help usher in the part of the home group service. I know this is very basic but in the modern day structure of the church these actions become revoluntionary.
  • Brent Williams

Awesome! Strong men make strong families that make strong assemblies. There is a great shortage of real men.

    May God bless your effort.
  • Jamie Blair

    Bro Donnie,

We are excited and expecting great things at the home group meeting tonight at our home! Thanks for the opportunity for allowing us to host this!
  • Alex Thornhill

Good to meet you too at the conference, brother! It was great to discuss the end-time topic that you brought up!

  • Jim McKinley

Donnie, It was good meeting you and having some time to get to know each other. Hope to see you soon.

Hey Mr.Gillum! It was nice to meet you also. We have learned a whole lot at the conference and at the mens advance, it was great! Well hope all is going well for you, God Bless Brother.
  • Mike Hensley

Greetings to you brother, I'm sorry that we made our acquaintance at the end of your visit here; I would have enjoyed talking to you more. Until we meet again, let's be friends on the network.
  • Brent Williams

I was have loved to come but I had to take my vacation time to attend the Shema Conference here at home. Maybe God will open up the door next year.
  • Steve Sanders

Hello Bro. Donnie, it was a pleasure to meet the both of you. I'm so glad you decided to attend the conference; Since this was your first year at the Glorious Church Conference (GCC), I'm curious to learn how you liked it?
  • Steve Sanders

Hello Bro. Donnie, I'm pleased to learn that you received confirmation from the Lord while attending the GCC. It was three years ago this October that we were sent from the GCC by the believers in Carlisle to begin planting an Apostolic church in Elyria per our Lord's blueprint for His church. I'm glad to be a fellow laborer with you, and I'm looking forward to our future correspondences. Steve
  • Steve Sanders

    Hello Bro. Donnie,

Yes…most of my family was already living in Elyria when we started connecting with the Carlisle believers. I’m so glad to learn that you’ve been meeting in home groups for the last few months. Home groups are the primary focus of our ministry to the church and community in Elyria, and I’m confident that you will find them to be extremely beneficial to you, your family and those you’re trying to reach out to with the gospel message.

Progress Summarization: the first week after we left the Carlisle church, we started meeting at my brother-in-law’s house for home group using the Carlisle church’s home group booklets. At first we used almost exclusively the home group lessons given to us by Bro. Huston. Some of these lessons can be found on the Glorious Church website. Within a couple of months, the Lord blessed us with a former Baptist church building for Sunday worship service, Christian learning classes and outreach events, but our main focus was and is still our home groups. Within a year, our home group grew to approximately 18 faithful believers, so we multiplied into two home groups. My wife and I have a home group in our home on a weekly basis and my Sister and her husband have a home group. Our home groups progressively grew spiritually and numerically. As the depth and maturity of our home groups started growing, and believers started dealing with woundedness, transparency, authenticity, and confession we started losing some people. The home groups for some were fun and cool at first, but then God started really doing a work in the hearts and lives of the believers and some decided at that point that home group was not for them. Thankfully most of the believers in Elyria continue to testify about the ministry they’ve received through home group. They wouldn’t trade home group for anything.

    Here is a list of some of our most effective home group teaching series;
    1. Series 1: Life in the Community of Light (Bro. Huston)
    2. Series 2: Jesus: Head of the Church (Bro. Huston)
    3. The Lordship of Jesus Christ (Bro. Huston)
    4. The Power of Vision (Bro. Huston)
    5. Passion for God's Purpose (Bro. Huston)
    6. Improving your Serve (Charles Swindoll)
    7. Regroup (Henry Cloud and John Townsend)
    8. Changes that Heal (Henry Cloud and John Townsend)
    9. Boundaries (Henry Cloud and John Townsend)

Thanks for asking about us, and I'll be asking the church this Sunday to pray for you folks. May God Bless You...Steve
  • Myron Powell

Thank you brother. Do you have a website?
  • Myron Powell

WOW - my father-in-law is a carpenter. He's retired now, but still does some things on the side.
  • Myron Powell

Thank you brother Donnie. Being in an eldership fulfills Scripture, provides the best leadership paradigm for His church, achieves accountability, and aides against burnout. Greater fulfillment is also realized, as the body functions best doing what it was created to do. In other words, I LOVE IT!
  • Donnie Gillum

LOL! Great! Mind telling a little of your journey - how you came to see plural elder leadership, your contact and association with your fellow-elders and progress to this point?
  • Edward Graham

Thanks for your response. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better and to share experiences on the walk with our Saviour. I think this is a tremendous opportunity provided us by the technology to link with like minded people from around that world to share the good news and our thoughts about Jesus, the Great God and Saviour.
  • Edward Graham

Well things are heating up here in Jamaica and it's not yet the summer months. People are crying out for God seeking Him as they are becoming aware that He is their only hope, as well as people are shunning the knowledge of Him. I guess that's you'll find everywhere, but strides are being made to win the lost for Lord. We have much fight from the evil as was to be expected. People aren't willing though to accept the plural leadership style, I guess that they are used to the authoitarian style of leadership but all in all I have to say that God has been tremendously great. Some have accepted and greeted it with cheers of joy.
  • Jim Moses

It's going good. June 1st was 1 year. Did you guys do anything with it?
