Home Groups continue to be one of the most important ministries of Glorious Assembly. With the help of the Carlisle Christian Fellowship church, we established home groups as a core ministry of our assembly over 2-1/2 years ago. Jesus met in private homes during His earthly ministry, and our church body will gladly testify that He is still ministering in private homes today.
Last week the church’s building for corporate worship was severely damaged by a thunderstorm; the 60 mph straight-line winds tour a large section of the metal roof off the building (see photos). Sizeable sections of the metal roof landed on homes and automobiles on the next block. One large section blew unto the electrical power lines causing a blackout in the area. Praise the Lord; nobody was hurt as a result of the roof being blown off.
Understandably, due to the extent of the damage in the area our church was besieged by the local media; consequently, we received numerous calls from businesses and concerned churches offering us a short-term solution for a place of worship. Although we sincerely appreciated the offers for a temporary meeting place, we graciously declined and decided to utilize our already established home groups as our Sunday meeting place (see photos). Praise the Lord…our Sunday home group meeting was awesome.
Great testimony, Bro. Steve. I told our assembly about this on Sunday and they could see how we too could go on, even without a central meeting place. Thank the Lord for our home groups. Glad no one was injured.
